Quote Of The Week 10 – 2017
How To Be Successful In Life And Do What You Want
“Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do.” – Pelé
In order to be successful in your life and do what you want you need to know these two things:
- How do you define success for yourself and how you get there
- Knowing what you actually want to do
This sounds trivial. But as easy as it seems many people have no clue what success actually means for them or what they want to do in their life.
At best they have a vague idea that comes up now and then but nothing you could really put a finger on. They have no goals, no guidelines, or vision. They live day in and day out without knowing what they want but still feel distinctly unhappy or uneasy about their lives.
I used to be like this as well but I my awareness and focus started to shift. This is not always an easy process because what used to be clear is no longer certain and things can be quite confusing sometimes.
We get confused when we live out of balance and finding this balance for me and for others is a reason why I started this website. By taking action I started a transformation process which hopefully leads to a holistic lifestyle for all of us.
Here is the thing:
Sleepwalking your life will bring you nowhere except where you are right now. Everyone has dreams but out of the few people who are actually willing to admit it, even fewer are willing to do something about it. Every dream without action is just an illusion.
If you are truly happy with your current life then I am genuinely happy for you and invite you to share your story with us. In any other case, you might want to stop and ponder for a while. Don’t worry or start to panic however. Try to listen inside you and find out what it is that you are missing and be as honest as you can.
The thing is that your own life could start to feel like an illusion. This is how it feels for me sometimes the more I change my focus.
Many of us however feel this illusion on a subconscious level but try to ignore it.
You spend probably more time and effort to convince yourself that everything is alright rather than taking action to change something. Anything!
Deep down you know that it is not the way it should be. I believe that trying to suppress this intuitive knowing causes all kinds of frustration, bad relationships, or even diseases.
I am not talking about your ego’s craving for always wanting more, but rather of something that is missing in your life which prevents you from living to your full potential.
Every once in a while, in the silence between all the distractions that keep us “busy”, you may notice something. This feeling can vary from time to time and is probably different for each person.
You could feel uncomfortable in the silence, alone at home, or even scaring the darkness. You also could have a feeling of boredom which has a deeper meaning you might not yet be aware of yet.
Once you know how you define success for yourself then you also know what you still need to do to get there. Don’t allow other people to interfere with your ideas and beware that sometimes it is best not to talk about your goals in order to be successful.
And in order to help you to do it the right way, you should be aware of the success principles that work for each one of us in both ways.
What do I mean by both ways?
You have to understand that the success principles always work and make you “successful” whether you want it or not. Think of them as tools that can either build or destroy. You decide how you are going to use them. In fact, you are ALREADY using them whether you are aware of that or not.
Understanding these four simple principles will allow you to take back responsibility over your life and move in the direction that works for you because you WANT TO!
The Success Principles
Success Principle #1: Have A Clear Vision
If you can’t imagine it, it simply is not going to happen. Without a vision you won’t be able to succeed. There are no limits to what you can envision for yourself. Dare to dream big. Everyone has dreams but only a few are willing to make a commitment to follow through.
Having a dream is great but not sufficient to make it real. Having a dream and a commitment means, having a vision or superior goal. This in turn will enable you to actually schedule it, and what you can schedule, will eventually become real.
Your vision should be as detailed as possible and you should see yourself in the very moment right after you have achieved your number one goal. More so, try to envision, what you feel, what you say and think, who you speak to and how grateful you will be. How does an ideal day in your life look like? How would your ideal year look alike?
Answer this questions a detailed as possible. Write down what you are going to do, say, think, and feel in that moment and then read it and envision it every day, or even better, write it down over and over again. This is a proven method to actually bring your vision to reality. You train your mind and rewire your brain to live through this imaginary experience over and over again.
This vision is your most important reason why you want to start in the first place. When times get tough you can always come back to this vision, ideally every morning, and get new motivation and inspiration to keep going.
How long should you keep this practice?
We are not talking about a day or a week, we are talking about at least 90 days or even longer of daily visualization and repetition of your vision. This will literally rewire your brain and change your mindset and focus.
Your brain will automatically start to look for ways to match your inner image with your outer reality. On a deeper level you basically go into resonance to your own vision and basically attract anything that is in alignment with that. This however requires a daily commitment from your side.
You can look at this also from another perspective:
Have your visions from the past come true? Has your lack of a clear vision left gaps for a lot of eventualities and other things that you kind of accepted happening because you just let them? Could it be that your lack of a clear vision has led to a somehow sketchy outcome?
Was there on the other hand a situation in your life where you really had a strong mindset and achieved what you aimed for?
Try to remember how it felt and be assured, that you can achieve it. All you need is to have a clear vision.
Success Principle #2: You Create Your Reality
You create your reality, so start to create your reality. Be creative, be authentic.
It all starts with your thoughts. What are your thought patterns and believe systems? What do you think and why do you think that way? Is there a good reason for it or do you live your life just based on false assumptions?
A simple way to prove that thoughts create your reality is looking at how you experience certain situations. Our subjective perception of an always neutral situation determines how we experience this situation.
Your brain cannot distinguish between what is real and just a thought, so it always reacts on the input you give with your thoughts. Your constantly judging mind is analyzing your environment and your thoughts about a situation cause you to feel in a certain way due to upcoming emotions.
Emotions are “energy in motion” and thus amplify the situation and make it much more intense than it actually is.
Imagine looking out of the window in the morning and seeing that it is raining. Your mind will immediately start to think about the consequences and other things which cause all sorts of negative emotions. Your energy level drops and you are in a bad mood and start attracting even more bad things.
You may blame the rain but the rain is just neutral. It is actually very peaceful if you stop to think about it and shift your focus. Your subjective perception and emotional energetic amplification of the situation can make it much worse. This reality exists only in your own personal bubble and is not related to the actual situation. This way you create your own reality each and every moment whether you like it or not.
Beware of your thoughts and realize that you are not them. As I said many times before, in old Egypt the thoughts were considered to be one of your five other senses, so merely a sensory perception, and not who you are. You are the observer of your thoughts and need to detach from them in order to find peace in your mind.
In essence, you have to realize that you are in charge over your thoughts and that only you can change them. This awareness allows you to take back responsibility over your thoughts, and hence, over your life.
This is a very important skill that has the potential to change your life completely.
Success Principle #3: Reprogram Your Mind And Beware Who Is Programming You
Be aware of who is programming you and who you listen to. The best way to be successful is to stop listening to bad advice from the wrong people.
Also realize that negative thinking is a bad habit. Stop downloading all the negativity from the TV program, the news, hanging out with negative people or too much on social media.
How does watching the news help you with you personal life situation? Don’t let other people tell you what you should do or not. Be your own boss, turn off the TV, read mind changing books, and go in your tool shed and get active.
Instead of blaming and complaining (being passive) you could build and create (being active) and make the world a better place. Get rid off toxic thinking and toxic people in your life and get inspired by those who achieved what you want to achieve as well.
Surround yourself with people and situations that are uplifting and supportive or as Jim Rohn puts it:
“You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.”
Realize that our childhood determines who we become but also that nothing is fixed and that you can rewire your brain anytime you want. So don’t allow your mind to use you and find peace within yourself.
Success Principle #4: A.C.T.I.O.N.
Many people, myself included, keep talking about taking action in order to be successful and make a change for your life. But what does it mean to take action and how am I supposed to act?
What does the last success principle stand for?
Well, I have put together a hopefully easy to remember acronym that happens to be spelled ACTION.
I hope you get the idea 🙂
So here are the most important elements, according to my experience, what successful action should consist of:
Advance on what you learn. Be flexible with your mind, opinion, and self-image. Be open to learn new things and never stop asking yourself how you can get even better or help others even more.
Commit to your goals. Everyone has goals but only few people are willing or actually able to follow through. It all starts with setting the right goals and make them a new priority in your life.
Track your actions and ideas. When things get tough it is good to know why you started and how far you have come already. Looking back makes you proud and moving on with new confidence.
Intuition beats reason. Stop being always reasonable and trust your instincts. Most opportunities come only once and not going for them due to fear or worries may cause even greater troubles. When you feel sure between 40% and 70% then go for it. You can never be 100% sure, and when you are it is most likely too late.
Organize your time and workplace. Always stay on top of what is going on. You cannot control everything but you can have at least a fair idea of what is going on and where you are at the moment.
Now is the time to get started. This is all the time you have. Every moment is just another now. So what are you waiting for?
How To Be Successful In Life And Do What You Want?
Every ACTION is just a FRACTION of your success. It requires repeated successful action in order to build success in the long run. With this image in your mind you will notice that success is also not just a moment or suddenly there.
Success is a way to live, a lifestyle and a mental attitude and keeps growing every time you continue building it. That is all there is to know. Success is passion and perseverance. Your ability to follow through determines how good and successful you become.
Using the success principles will start a process that will yield the desired outcome.
Each process has a certain output that is determined by its input. So make sure to change your input if you want to see different results.
You cannot stop creating your own reality, having a certain mindset, or acting in a certain way. But what you can change is to understand how the success principles work and in the next step making them work for you. Commit to your success and don’t quit. No excuses until you have made it.
Take back the responsibility for your life by realizing that it has been you who is responsible for your life situation, no one else. And it is going to be you who will continue to be responsible in the future. There is no one else to blame.
So get out of you comfort zone. I know it is still hard, even after reading this. But it is worth it.
Because you have a vision, haven’t you…?
(Come on, write it down, now!)
Start your holistic life transformation and change your life today to become your greatest version. Let’s make this world a better place applying the success principles in a way that is serving us the way we want.
Have a wonderful week my friend.
