7 Hidden Forces That Rule Your Life — Unless You Learn to Master Them
Life has always been tough for you.
You needed to fight harder than others. You never seem to get what you want. And the harder you try, the worse it gets.
But sometimes you wonder if it has to be this way.
Not that you haven’t tried…
Journaling, meditation, affirmations, morning rituals, goal setting techniques, and inspirational quotes. Not to forget the good old vision board…They are all wrestling for your attention.
And no matter how hard you work, no matter how many different techniques you try, none of it is working for you.
Your life has not turned around the way you have imagined it so many times. You always get stuck with the same problems and don’t know why. And the moment you think you are in control of your life is the moment you lose it all again.
You must be wondering…
Is it really possible to create the life you want? Is it really possible to create the same results for everybody? Is there really more to life than we dare to admit? And if so, why is it not working for you?
Where exactly do you miss the wood for the trees?
So let me tell you something.
I was in the same situation like you. It all made kind of sense but it didn’t click.
And I am going to show you exactly what I mean. I literally had to bump into these trees (pain involved) several times before I realized they were there.
I cannot promise to give you all the answers to your problems, but I can promise to keep you away from the headaches…
My unmissable wake-up call
When I lost my job in 2016 my world made no sense anymore. I had dedicated 5 years of my life to become a graduate engineer. I thought it would help me to get a job and live a happy life thereafter, or something like that.
This dream of job and happiness came to a sudden halt after only one year. I got kicked out of my job at the “contract-extension-meeting” (Speak: unexpectedly).
To be honest with you my job was not the most fulfilling life experience. But not having a job didn’t help much happy either.
After some dark weeks and a fair amount of self-pity, I couldn’t take it anymore. Something had to change, and since my life already did there was only one thing left for change:
The good news:
Having nothing to lose is where freedom begins.
I seriously started to question my approach to life. I had done everything society had asked me to do and it got me nowhere.
Now I was not only forced to get my life back on track. I also had to change my approach this time. Apparently, there was something going wrong.
“A mistake repeated more than once is a decision” — Paulo Coelho
So I started looking for answers…
From modern gurus to the origin of inspiration
I started my self-improvement journey to reach my goals and dreams.
The first thing I noticed was that I didn’t even have any goals or dreams. And without a destination, you are just moving but can never get anywhere.
I looked at everybody who is anybody. I studied the ABC of self-improvement if you wish. I searched for influencers to teach me how to change my life. From A for Anonymous (just kidding) to Z for Zig Ziglar.
Here are some of my findings from the web-space:
I have collected 44 Most Inspirational Posts Ever Written if you need a place to get started.
I kept looking and wanted to get into action.
Some of my favorites are listed below
- Richie Norton helped me to understand where I am in life right now and what I need to do to live a meaningful life
- Benjamin P. Hardy showed me that journaling on a daily basis really helps to clear my mind, get more productive, focused, inspired, and motivated to just name a few.
- Ryan Holiday helped me to see that even the ancients acquired timeless wisdom which is more useful now than ever before.
Among all the inspirational content I noticed something:
- some quotes are more profound than others
- some inspirations resonated stronger inside of me
- some teachings simply feel to be true
- proverbs from every corner of the world seem to talk the same language.
And I began to wonder if there is something that connects the dots?
Is there something like the origin of all wisdom? Something that has always been there in front of us? Something that waits to be found by those who seek?
The ancients had it all(ready)
This is when I came across the 7 Cosmic Principles or Hermetic Principles that are the core teachings of Hermeticism (see also Kybalion and the Emerald Tablets). Due to their universal appeal, I refer to them as Universal Principles.
Their origin goes back to Thoth who lived in Atlantis and Egypt. But despite their fascinating origin I want to focus more on the very essence of this ancient and timeless wisdom.
And not until recently have I fully understood the full meaning of these principles. If I would have, my life wouldn’t be the mess it was.
Ancient Wisdom for a New Human Consciousness — The 7 Universal Principles
These principles have an order, and yet they are all connected and one could not work without the others. Mastering these principles is a continuous process and THE most important step for your personal and spiritual growth. Make it a priority and share this information with others as well.

1. The Principle Of Spirit
The universe is mental. Everything that exists is spirit and created out of it. The universal spirit created matter to experience itself within it. Everything is conscious and conscious is everything.
“Through our eyes, the universe is perceiving itself. Through our ears, the universe is listening to its harmonies. We are the witnesses through which the universe becomes conscious of its glory, of its magnificence.” — Alan Watts
2. The Principle Of Correspondence
Everything has an analogy. The great is in the smallest, the smallest is in the greatest, as above so below, as within so without. All is equally valid and important from the smallest to the biggest aspects.
“When everything is connected to everything else, for better or for worse, everything matters” — Bruce Mau
“Tug on anything in nature and you will find it connected to everything else” — John Muir
3. The Principle Of Vibration
Everything is vibrating; nothing is truly solid. Spirit vibrates at very high and matter at very low frequencies. Spirit alters vibration and attracts whatever it is focusing on. Intent equals frequency.
“If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.” — Nikola Tesla
“Everything is energy and that’s all there is to it. Match the frequency of the reality you want and you cannot help but get that reality. It can be no other way. This is not philosophy. This is physics” — Albert Einstein
4. The Principle Of Polarity
Everything is dual and has two sides within its existence. Opposites are different aspects of the same thing and are identical in nature. Poles can be balanced, all paradoxes can be reconciled.
“Unity can only be manifested by the Binary. Unity itself and the idea of unity are already two” — Buddha
“The word ‘self’ is as great a mystery as the word ‘other’. It’s just a polarity between two mysteries” — Terence McKenna
5. The Principle Of Rhythm
Everything ebbs and flows, increases and decreases, what breathes in needs to breathe out. Rhythm is the compensation but nothing is ever the same. The rhythmic spiral can be balanced, the swing can be neutralized.
“There is nothing constant in the universe. All ebb and flow, and every shape that’s born, bears in its womb the seeds of change” — Ovid
“Change is the only constant in life” — Heraclitus
6. The Principle Of Cause And Effect
Every cause has an effect and every effect has a cause. Every thought, every feeling, every action be it consciously or unconsciously creates a cause which will have an effect. There is no destiny, coincidence, sin or luck, there is only cause and effect.
“What we do now echoes in eternity” — Marcus Aurelius
“Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant” — Robert Louis Stevenson
7. The Principle Of Gender
Everything has a male and female aspect. Gender manifests on all planes and seeks unification. It is also the principle of sexuality, the impulse of life. It is transformation and creation due to the reunification of opposing poles.
“Yin and yang, male and female, strong and weak, rigid and tender, heaven and earth, light and darkness, thunder and lightning, cold and warmth, good and evil…the interplay of opposite principles constitutes the universe” — Confucius
I know what you’re thinking…
This makes kind of sense after all but you cannot see how they could help you with your current life situation.
Before you start looking for something you have missed let me walk you through the implications these principles have.
I know that is a lot to take in, but believe me, you don’t want to miss the next part. It will all make more sense as you will be familiar with some of them.
Implications that will blow your mind
Once these principles sink in deeper, your awareness will open your mind to the incredible wisdom and depth they entail.
- Matter is an illusion created by the spirit, so is our body and reality (Principle of Spirit). In fact, matter and spirit are the same. They are identical in nature, but different in degrees. (Principle of Polarity)
- We are not limited to our bodies. In your very essence, you are an infinite being. (Principle of Spirit)
- You are the creator of all your realities, without exception. (Principle of Spirit)
- Everything is connected. We are all one. There really is no hierarchy, better or worse, bigger or smaller. (Principle of Correspondence)
- Your intention determines the quality of your creations. Same attracts the same. (Principle of Vibration)
- Freedom of any limitations such as your fears and negative emotions. Both positive and negative aspects are always present. Recognizing the positive in the negative heals the situation, fear, or emotion. (Principle of Polarity)
- Living in the present moment means creating a balance of the rhythmic forces in your life. Most people live on a mental and emotional roller coaster. You can break the cycle of good and bad times and all ups and downs in your life by diving into the eternity of the present moment. Then time itself and any other “times” lose their hold on you.
- You set all causes in your life. Complaining without being willing to change is reactive thinking. You can improve your life by setting the right causes. ACTION is the process. Improving the output is only achieved by changing the input. (Principle of Cause and Effect)
- You have a male and female aspect inside of you. Balancing these out will help you to improve your relationships. Otherwise, these imbalances will be reflected. Combining intuition and intellect, the emotional and analytical mind is the gateway to creativity and co-creation. (Principle of Gender)
These are just some implications out of more not addressed here. And combining different principles will lead to even more insights. These principles work always together and improving one aspect of your life will have an impact on all the others too.
The 7 Universal Principles are at the core of what many spiritual teachers and coaches practice. They are combining it all.
Now read the principles above again or download them here.
Pay attention to how you feel while reading them. Your perception might have changed already and you feel a deeper knowing and inner resonance. If not, don’t worry, it may take some time to really sink in.
Now that we know the hidden forces, they are no longer invisible to us which automatically makes us more aware of them. And with awareness comes transformation.
But understanding these principles alone is not enough to initiate a real change. Knowledge itself is useless. Only applied knowledge becomes wisdom.
In our case, there is only one thing you need to focus on.
The force that connects all principles
Everything strives for growth and reunification. This is also what the 7 Universal Principles are about.
The highest frequency and unifying force is unconditional love to everything that is. Love is the highest energy and the very substance everything is made of.
Understand that living and expressing unconditional love to everything is an essential part of mastering your life. To live means to love, and to love means to live.
LIVE = LOVE
Start with loving your self and who you truly are and your life will unfold to what it is meant to be, as within so without.
Mastering these principles will help you gain full control over your life and the reality you create for yourself. It has always been this way with or without you being aware of your creative powers.
As you do this, your life will turn the way you have imagined it so many times. You are embracing your inner self and your connection to everything that is.
You understand that you are the cause of all your problems and how to transform them one step at a time.
This process takes time and cannot be rushed.
But taking full responsibility for your actions and creations will, finally, give you back your control.
This is when you have become a master of your life.
