You have one of those days. Again.
You can’t even remember the last time when you truly enjoyed life.
The only time you feel at peace are the two seconds between waking up and not remembering the mess that is called life. Your life.
You feel desperate, lonely and overwhelmed by your problems. Days are dark. Winter is here.
So what are you going to do about it?
You can continue the way you always did and expect the impossible that someday everything is going to be better.
Or you allow yourself to get a new perspective and thus invite change into your life.
The power of inspiration
“The past cannot be changed. The future is yet in your power.”
— Mary Pickford
All of us face hard times at some point in our life. In those desperate and dark times, we reach out and seek help. However, it is not always easy to find the right answers when we most need them. For this reason, I have compiled this list of some of the most inspiring posts ever written.
The metrics I used are simple. I looked at some of the most shared posts over the last few years and then selected those that resonated most with me and hopefully with you too.
Not everything that is shared often is inspirational, and sometimes the most inspirational stories are not shared. So in any way, it also a personal list. And with millions of posts published every single day, it is almost impossible to take everything into account.
However, my firm intention behind this list is to provide at least a starting point for you no matter where you are in life. Some of these posts have been shared millions of times, others became the blueprint for entire books.
At the very best, they are exactly what you need right now. At the very least, they direct you to some of the best blogs with tons of more inspirational content. Furthermore, you can follow those influencers who wrote them and learn more about their present work. Simply do what resonates with you or someone you know.
Whenever the wind of change blows strong in our lives, we can choose to either build walls or to set sails. This list is for those who want to set sail and leave behind whatever is no longer serving them. Every challenge we face is an opportunity for growth.
Very often, the greatest pain leads to the most remarkable performances of people. So learning from those who have mastered these situations and provide guidance for us is a good way to overcome the struggles we go through ourselves.
How to get the most out of this list:

Once you are ready, let’s get started:
Secrets of Happiness
Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared.
The past you are now longing for — the past that you are now dreaming about — was ignored by you when it was present.
Fear of change had them pretending to others, and to their selves, that they were content, when deep within, they longed to laugh properly and have silliness in their life again.
If you awake every morning with the thought that something wonderful will happen in your life today, you’ll often find that you’re right.
“Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it.”
— Charles R. Swindoll
Never, never, never give up.
Though you may not attain your desired result you are not a failure and you can always recommit to attaining a different result.
Taking a mind-body approach that nourishes the body and reduces the physical, mental and emotional stresses that cause weight gain is the most sensible and sustainable way to lose weight.
“The greatest prison people live in is the fear of what other people think.”
— David Icke
The problem with people who hand out fucks like ice cream at a goddamn summer camp is that they don’t have anything more fuckworthy to dedicate their fucks to.
The thing you thought was your life’s curse may actually be the blessing that’s going to open the doors to a life beyond your wildest dreams.
There is nothing more difficult yet more gratifying in our society than living with sincerity and acting from a place of largehearted, constructive, rational faith in the human spirit, continually bending toward growth and betterment.
Follow these four rules to inner cleanse:
- Say what you mean. Mean what you say.
- Don’t say to anyone unless you can say to everyone.
- Don’t say inside, what you cannot say outside.
- Don’t say unless it is true, useful or kind.
Your story has the power to make a difference, to build up courage, to leave a mark, to make people overcome their limitations, and to make someone feel belonged.
“The best preparation for tomorrow is doing your best today.”
— H. Jackson Brown, Jr.
Step into the present; be aware, alert, and conscious. When you are focused, you can make better choices and feel much more in control.
Let your mind wander on a leash; it will lead you to the jewels of self-awareness and illuminate missing information hidden in your brain.

You grow a self-awareness which allows you to witness and ignore your ‘monkey mind’ or the unstoppable train of thoughts and habits that we have.
If you pay close attention to your vibration when you start to feel things are slightly shifting or you have that feeling of being antsy then you know you are going through a life cycle change.
Are my beliefs about life, religion, my kids, my family, my spouse, or politics the absolute truth?
Abundance and Wealth
“Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant.”
— Robert Louis Stevenson
Be grateful for small things that make you smile: kindness, truth, someone helping you, beautiful weather, chirping birds, or even a blissful, quiet moment.
Remember that no matter how bad your situation may seem, there are tens of thousands of things to be grateful for in life.
Design your life
I can’t change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination.
— Jimmy Dean
The things that bring you the greatest joy are in alignment with your purpose and will get you to where you want to go.
All details aside, when it comes to making a substantial change in your life […]one thing you have to ask yourself is, “Am I willing to spend a little time every day like many people won’t, so I can spend the better part of my life like many people can’t?”
My Only Three Goals in Life
A) I want to be happy.
B) I want to eradicate unhappiness in my life.
C) I want every day to be as smooth as possible. No hassles.
If you’re a civil engineer, airline pilot or bomb disposal expert you really want to avoid positive thinking.
The world is full of naysayers, all of them eager to shout you down at the slightest indication you might transcend mediocrity, but the greatest sin you can commit is to yourself become one of them.
“The secret of change is to focus all of your energy not on fighting the old, but on building the new.”
If you don’t purposefully carve time out every day to progress and improve — without question, your time will get lost in the vacuum of our increasingly crowded lives.
The endorphins released during activity play a big role in your mood, so if you’re not active, get active!
See that you are awesome enough to handle discomfort, and that the results are well worth it.
The challenge is bad habits are insidious, creeping up on you slowly until you don’t even notice the damage they’re causing.
Motivation and Success
Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.
— Albert Schweitzer
Detach from the things you cannot control, and focus on the ones you can, and know that sometimes, the only thing you will be able to control is your attitude towards something.
When you get hit, do you stay down? Or do you reach down somewhere deep inside of you and pull up the courage that lifts you back on your feet to keep moving forward? You do have a choice.
I was always okay and comfortable in the unknown, which has allowed me to navigate towards success.
It doesn’t matter what the balance is in your bank account, how big your house is, or how many fancy vacations you take. If you are happy, then you are succeeding in life.
Your successful friends believe that it’s not where you are born, how much education you have, or how much money you start out with; success is about believing you can change the world.
Dealing with Loss
“We must let go of the life we have planned, so as to accept the one that is waiting for us.”
— Joseph Campbell
It’s worse to say nothing than to say the wrong thing.
The stronger and deeper the love the more grief will be created on the other side. Consider it a sacred opportunity to stand shoulder to shoulder with someone who have endured one of life’s most frightening events.
“Keep your face always toward the sunshine — and shadows will fall behind you.”
— Walt Whitman
There will never be a time when life is simple. There will always be time to practice accepting that. Every moment is a chance to let go and feel peaceful.
The voice inside your head is repetitive, loud, habitual, vibrant, and sometimes involuntary. Take the seat as a spectator, and see your thoughts without listening to them.
If you’re like me, you’re an extroverted introvert. You can be outgoing, yet you desperately need your alone time.
All of us can have a bad day at times, but if you notice that even just two or three of the warning signs are becoming habitual patterns — watch out!
“You are not a drop in the ocean. You are the entire ocean, in a drop.”
Becoming a better version of yourself creates a ripple effect that benefits everything around you: your lifestyle, your family, your friends, your community.
The true value of something is a direct result of the energy and intent that is put into it.
Each of the seven main chakras contains bundles of nerves and major organs as well as our psychological, emotional, and spiritual states of being. If one of the chakras is blocked or out of balance, then energy cannot flow freely and evenly throughout the body.
Learning from the best
He never argued his ideas. If people didn’t believe in them, he ignored those people.
Focus on proactively making positive changes, instead of having change merely thrust upon you.
If you always put limits on everything you do, physical or anything else, it will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them.
