10 Best Mind Changing Books For 2017 - Guaranteed

  1. Self improvement is a thing that everyone should strive for because after all, no one is perfect. We can all do better in one area or another. I have a question more focused upon actually reading. Do you have any tips for someone that has a hard time sitting through reading a book? I buy books all the time and they end up on my bookshelf and I don’t actually get motivated to read it, even with an interesting story line.

    • Thank you for your comment and the great question. There are several tips to read a book fast and to take the most out of it that I am going to share with you:

      1) Try to read as much as you can within the first one or two weeks after you bought the book. You are still motivated to read the book and are curios about it. The longer you wait, the less likely it is that you are actually going to read it. Try to read daily whenever you have the chance to do so. This applies to fiction and non-fiction books. After you read the first 50 to 100 pages you should be willing to find out more because you actually start to get interested in the topic or story.

There are some quick reading tips that you can use if you are not so eager to read long texts especially regarding non-fiction books:

      2) Read the preface, the table of contents, and the text on the hard cover to get a feeling of what the book is about. This makes it easier for you to get into the topic especially if you are not familiar with it.

      3) You can pick out only the chapters that you think are most interesting for you.

      4) You can read the first paragraph and the summary of each chapter. Then you understand what it is about and still get the knowledge you were looking for

      5) If there is a chapter that you want to read in more detail, then you can skim the text rather than reading every single word.

      6) Finally, if there is a passage that interests you, then read normal and use the information that is provided in more detail.

      7) In order to remember what you have read it can be very helpful to make some quick handwritten notes about the chapter.

Some people read one book per week using the described method and get as much information out of them as “normal reader”. The more books you read about a certain topic the less totally new information will be available for you. Therefore, people may look only for specific information and can skip the rest.

Last Tip: Try to have fun and don’t make it a chore

I hope that helps and hope you can enjoy reading books after all

  2. Hey there,

I can always use a good book! The book I’m most looking forward to in your list is Grit by Angela Duckworth, I’ve seen her TED talk several times and I’m still thinking about that concept of grit, it’s about time I dig deeper into it.

    Thanks for sharing!

  3. The insurance coverage features can also be used to complete the payment for treatment and other medications. It is possible to fix an appointment with a Psychologist by using the customer care call center facility. The obstacles standing between you and your fears can be easily removed by behavioral therapy. It can also increase your confidence level. Various meditation and relaxation sessions are required to achieve this. The anxiety disorder can be controlled by doing regular exercise. It will be much easier to collect more details about the best anxiety therapist Barrie by logging in to the psychologyhelps website. You can use the chat facility provided on the website to get instant help at any time.

  4. I like your approach of reprogramming your mind for success in the new year. These all seem very useful, and the one called “Supreme Influence” by Niurka (cool name!) caught my attention in particular. Really because you said it uses NLP to influence your mind. I’ve heard a lot of good things about neuro-linguistic programming over the years, but have yet to really use it personally.

I will have to check it out for myself. Which of these ten books if your favorite?

    • Hi Nick,

thank you for your comment and the good question. I think it is really hard to nominate a favorite here because they are all quite particular. Supreme Influence is indeed one of my favorites but so are all of the ten. Another good one to start in my opinion is “Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself” because this is a very essential aspect of this website as well. But then again it depends all on your personal preference as well.

Whatever book you choose, I hope you enjoy reading

  5. I haven’t really read any of these, so I could be picking up on one and be done with it all.

All of these books are well within my price range, they also have great reviews on amazon, which is always a plus.

Thank you for introducing me for some solid reading material.

    Cheers, Vlad!

    • Hi Vlad,

I found this to be a solid list and can recommend each one of them. But you could pick just one that is most appealing to you and I can guarantee that you won’t regret it.

Further, I can recommend “The Power Of Now” and “The Science Of Getting Rich”. There is so much we can learn from all of these books and it is definitely well invested effort.

If you decide to go for one book then have a good time reading it.

  6. This is a great list and most of them I haven’t delved into! I love to read books and am always on the hunt for new ones so thank you 🙂

One of the best books I’ve read recently, which is a similar kind to what you’ve listed, is “The Miracle Morning” by Hal Elrod. Have you tried it? It’s really fantastic!
